A method for diagnosis of prolonged crush syndrome of human extremities comprises air sampling for investigation of the patient in premises, around it, preliminary closed with air-tight material on non-damaged extremities, analysis of the air content and determining the change in the level of oxygen ions, nitrogen, ammonia, hydrogen, and endogenous alcohol. Additionally a number of hydrogen sulfide ions and methane is determined in the exhaled air and the magnitude of their change is determined.
