An isolated polynucleotide having a nucleotide sequence of an open reading frame (ORF) of a Chlamydia pneumoniae genome, comprising: (a) the nucleotide sequence encoding the ORF 291 amino acid sequence of SEQ ID No. 291; (B) a nucleotide sequence exhibiting an identity of at least 80% with the sequence of SEQ ID No. 291; or (c) a complementary sequence thereof.
