New standards for singlet oxygen photosensitization.; The present invention relates to new standards for singlet oxygen photosensitization. Relates the use of compounds of formula I and II and their derivatives as photosensitizers of singlet oxygen, high efficiency and stability against fenalenonas called current standards. Among all compounds tested, the oxoisoaporfinas and 3-azafenalenona, showed quantum yields of singlet oxygen production near one (1), through a wide range of polarities solvent. The superior photostability of oxoisoaporfinas and 3-azafenalenona evaluated and compared with phenalenone, suggests a novel and robust standard photosensitizing singlet oxygen, similar to the effect produced by these compounds in plants to defend against pathogens such as fungi.
