The present invention relates to a method and apparatusfor analyzing a sample by providing two light sources,coupling light emitted from the two light sources into acommon beam, guiding the common beam through a sample tobe analyzed to generate a first signal and a secondsignal different from the first signal. The first signalis used to obtain a nephelometric measurement and thesecond signal is used to obtain a spectrophotometricmeasurement of the sample. The methods and apparatus areuseful in in-vitro diagnosis.
