The present invention relates to a method for setting a preciousstone in a thin walled metal jewelry model and consists of thefollowing steps, providing a thin walled, expendable, castable inmetal jewelry model, a domed, collet style, expendable, castablein metal, stone setting part that includes a series of bondedinverted 'L' stone setting members on it's undersurface, ofbonding the collet stone setting part with the series of inverted'L' setting setting members over a pierced hole in the model, ofcasting the assembled unit, comprised of the model, the domed,collet style stone setting part with the bonded inverted 'L'stone setting members, in metal, of inserting a stone to be setbetween the 'L' stone setting members then bending the membersinward to the under conical shape of the stone.
