APPARATUS, METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PARALLEL POWER FLOW CALCULATION AND POWER SYSTEM SIMULATION

Apparatus, methods and systems for computing a solution to the powerflow problem and dynamically simulating a power system using parallelprocessing.The method includes: (a) performing a Jacobi power flow calculation for eachbus todetermine the complex voltage for each bus, wherein at least two Jacobi powerflowcalculations are performed concurrently on a plurality of parallel processors;(b)determining a power mismatch at each bus based on the complex voltage for eachbus;(c) repeating steps (a) to (c). The method may further include (d) calculatingafrequency of the power system using the power mismatch of at least one bus;(e)estimating the real and reactive power for each bus to achieve a steady stateusing acontrol system model, the control system model using at least one of thesystemfrequency, power mismatches and complex voltages as an input; and (f)repeating steps(a) to (f).
