METHOD FOR ATTENUATING INTERFERENCE NOISE IN DUAL-SENSOR SEISMIC DATA

A super-gather is constructed by interleaving traces from a hydrophone gatherand ageophone gather in seismic data such that traces pertaining to co-locatedhydrophones andgeophones are adjacent to each other. A noise-attenuated super-gather,generated byapplying an f-x domain noise identifying and attenuation process to the super-gather, issubtracted from the super-gather to generate a super-gather noise model. Ahydrophonegather noise model, generated by removing non-noisy geophone gather tracesfrom thesuper--gather noise model, is subtracted from the hydrophone gather togenerate seismic data withinterference noise attenuated.
