The present invention relates to coating agents comprising (A) at least onepolyacrylate comprising hydroxylgroups and/or at least one polymethacrylate comprising hydroxyl groups, and(B) at least one compound (B) comprising isocyanategroups having at least one structural unit (I) of the formula (I) -NR-(X-SiR"x(OR')3-x) (I), and at least one structural unit (II) ofthe formula (II) -N(X-SiR"x(OR')3-x)n(X'-SiR"y(OR')3-y)m (II), characterizedin that (i) the polyacrylate comprising hydroxylgroups and/or the polymethacrylate comprising hydroxyl groups comprise a glasstransition temperature of less than 10°C, (ii) thecompound (B) comprising isocyanate groups comprises more than 10 to 90 mol %of at least one structural unit of the formula (I)and 10 to less than 90 mol % of at least one structural unit of the formula(II), each relative to the entirety of the structural units (I)and (II), and (iii) 10 to 60 mol % of the isocyanate groups of the di- and/orpolyisocyanate base body of the compound (B), havebeen converted to the structural units of the formulas (I) and (II). Thepresent invention further relates to a multistage coating methodusing said coating agent and to the use of the coating agent as a clearvarnish, or to the use of the coating method for seriespainting of automobiles, painting of automobile accessories, and repairpainting of automobiles.
