Various embodiments are directed to apparatuses for inspecting an on-lineproduct web moving relative to theap-paratus in a machine direction (118). The apparatuses may comprise a line-scan camera (102) defining a field of view (114) andpositioned such that the field of view includes a portion of the product web(208). A camera control system (104) may be inelec-tronic communication with the camera (102) and may be configured toreceive from the web velocity sensor (110) web velocitydata indicating a velocity of the product web and convert the web velocitydata to a line trigger signal. The line trigger signal mayindicate a temporal frequency of camera image captures necessary to achieve aconstant machine direction pixel resolution.Addi-tionally, the camera control system (104) may be configured to receiveproduct position data and generate a frame trigger signalconsidering the product position data. The frame trigger signal may indicate abreak between image frames.
