The transmission shaft is disposed along a longitudinal direction of the car body, and is positioned at a top of the car body by at least two shaft bearing seats. The coping is fixedly connected to the transmission shaft, and is rotated about an axis of the transmission shaft under the drive of the transmission shaft so as to perform an open/closed operation. The chain-drive mechanism is disposed at an end of one side of the car body. An output sprocket of the chain-drive mechanism is connected to the transmission shaft through a sprocket shaft and rotates around the same axis with the transmission shaft. The drive component is connected to the chain-drive mechanism, so as to drive the chain-drive mechanism to work. In operating, an operator at the end of the car body or on the ground controls the drive component to work, so as to perform the open/closed operation of the coping, thereby effectively increasing the operating efficiency and decreasing labor intensity of operator. Further, the operating safety is greatly improved. Based on this, the present invention further provides a railway freight car having the above coping device. 19
