An X-ray source comprising a laser (12) and a plurality of X-ray emitters (8) each with an electron source (32) and an X-ray emission center (34) disposed in an anode (22), wherein each X-ray emitter (8) is assigned an optical path along which a laser beam (36), emitted by the laser (12) is guided from said laser (12) to the electron source (32) of the X-ray emitter (8).
