Detection and suppression of multipath in a received broadcast signal using the Teager-Kaiser Operator

The present invention concerns a method and an apparatus for detecting the presence of multipath propagation in a modulated digital signal (s(n),s(n)c). A feature of the method is that of providing at least one first value (Ωc) of channel frequency, representative of said modulated digital signal free of multipath propagation, providing at least one second value of said channel frequency, representative of said modulated digital signal (s(n),s(n)c) with multipath propagation, and comparing said at least one first value (Ωc) with said at least one second value so as to detect the presence of multipath propagation in said modulated digital signal (s(n)). Said second value of said channel frequency, representative of said modulated digital signal with multipath propagation being calculated by the use of the Teager-Kaiser operator.
