The present invention relates to a portable digital esophageal stethoscope system and a method for checking the condition of a patient using the same, and particularly to a portable digital esophageal stethoscope system enabling the numerical expression and quantification of the waveform of heart sounds, and a method for checking the condition of a patient using the same. The present invention provides a portable digital esophageal stethoscope system comprising a digital esophageal stethoscope which is inserted into the esophagus of a patient, senses a heart sound signal and a body temperature signal, detects a heart rate and a respiratory signal from the heart sound signal, analyzes the respiration rate obtained from the heart rate and the respiratory signal, and transmits information from the monitoring of the heart according to a certain communication mode; and a portable terminal which receives the above information from the monitoring of the heart according to the above communication mode, and numerically expresses and quantifies the body temperature, the heart rate and the respiration rate, together with heart abnormalities. The present invention also provides a method for checking the condition of a patient using the portable digital esophageal stethoscope system.
