Described herein is a process for producing a filter for the abatement of emissions of particulate matter, said process comprising the steps of: preparing a suspension of ceramic material; dipping polymeric granules in the suspension so as to form a mixture; pouring the mixture in a mould; drying; pyrolysing; and sintering. The suspension preferably comprises at least one dispersing agent and at least one binding agent.
