A telephoto-type optical zoom includes a positive first lens group, a negative second lens group, a positive third lens group, and a negative fourth lens group containing first to third sub lens groups. The second lens group is moved for zooming and the third lens group is moved for zooming and for performing focusing. The fourth lens group is fixed during zooming and focusing. To correct image blurring, only the second sub lens group in the fourth lens group is moved in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis.
