An encoding method and apparatus for an Acknowledgement/Negative Acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) response message and a Rank Indicator (RI) signaling are disclosed by the present invention, wherein the encoding method for the ACK/NACK response message includes: using an encoding mode of the convolution code to encode the ACK/NACK response message when the bit number of the feedback ACK/NACK response message is greater than M, wherein M is a positive integer greater than 2. The application of the present invention resolves the problem that the prior art does not support the transmission of the RI signaling greater than 2 bits in a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) when the ACK/NACK response message needed to be fed back is greater than 11 bits, thus ensuring the reliable transmission of the ACK/NACK response message and the RI signaling in the PUSCH.
