The invention relates to equipment for identifying an individual by the capture of body imprint images and of the underlying venous network, comprising a prismatic optical element (16) including: a large surface (17) for the application of a body area (1); a first inclined lateral surface (19) receiving a first radiation at a first wavelength emitted by first lighting means (7) in order to light the large surface with total reflection; a second inclined lateral surface (20) opposite a first sensor (6a) receiving the first reflected radiation carrying an image of the body imprint; and a small surface (18) receiving a second radiation at a second wave length emitted by a second lighting means (8), perpendicularly reaching the application area and penetrating the body area (1), and opposite a second sensor (6b) receiving the second reflected radiation carrying an image of the underlying venous network.
