Industrial robot with a data capture module for wireless communication and method for operating same

The robot (1) has a data recording module (7) connected to a robotic arm (3). The data recording module is designed for a wireless communication and has a self-sufficient power supply with a converter unit. The converter unit converts mechanical energy into electrical energy, where the mechanical energy is obtained from a movement e.g. rotational movement and translational movement, of the robotic arm. The data recording module has an energy storage device in which the generated electrical energy is stored. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an industrial robot.
