The invention relates to a simple, high-yield animal-free culture media for lactic acid bacterial strains in general and a well-defined process for obtaining a high-yield of said bacteria making use of said medium. The invention further relates to the use of said medium for culturing recombinant lactic acid bacterial strains for recombinant protein isolation or therapeutic purposes.
