A method for processing molten steel for making fine the solidification structure of a cast steel, characterized by adding a prescribed amount of Mg in the molten steel having the concentrations of Ti and N satisfying the solubility product constant where TiN crystallizes at a temperature not lower than the liqudus temperature of said molten steel.
