The device has three laser-ultrasonic measuring heads (1) movably arranged at a common pivoting frame (2) that is tilted around a rotation axis (7). The measuring heads are movable radial to the rotation axis and around a pitch axis that is different from the rotation axis. The rotation axis is arranged parallel to the pitch axis that is arranged outside of a transportation area. Laser stripe sensors detect a radial workpiece position and are provided at the measuring heads. A temperature sensor is provided at one of the measuring heads.
