The system (20) has a simulator (25) for simulating flow of a material and guidance of data on data carriers e.g. barcode, data matrix and radio frequency identification (RFID), of material pieces, and a controller (22) on which control software (11) is executed. The software generates control data (S) and description data (Ds) for the simulator based on process data (P) and reading data (Dl). Operating- and monitoring software (13) is executed on the controller or on a device, detects input data from an operating person and provides output data to the operating person.
