The invention relates to an individual working or service table (1) providing comfort to a person sitting on a sofa or the like or an armchair or a wheelchair with armrests or even sitting on the floor. The table includes a working or service plate to be placed horizontally above the lap of a person in the abovementioned sitting position, and two armrests provided on either side of the working or service plate. Two respective side portions (3) are also connected to the plate and define an extension on the side of where the person is sitting, said side portions (3) forming downward returns, when considering the installation position, which can be positioned on either side of the sitting person, said side portions defining the armrests of the individual table at the upper surface and, at the base thereof, a stable bearing on the surface of the sitting area of the sofa or the like, on the armrests of the armchair or wheelchair or on the floor depending on the place where the person is sitting, the waist of the sitting person being enclosed by the plate portion and the side portions of the individual table.
