The present invention relates to a method for flexibly storing data relating to an object-oriented domain model including a server having access to a cache memory device holding the data, wherein the cache memory device includes a tree-based storage structure comprising a tree of nodes, a server being connected to a number of devices being represented by Java entity objects related to Java models, each Java model in particular including at least one class, the server furthermore being connected to a database for persisting data held in the cache memory device, wherein the method assigns meta entity containers with identification data for each of the Java entity objects to each of the nodes of the tree structure and wherein additionally mapping information is assigned to data to be persisted, wherein this mapping information has a relation to the meta entity containers, so that a table-based database structure can be used to assign data flexible to a variety of Java object models or their corresponding classes and to the matching nodes in the tree-based cache memory device.
