The roller sorting device (10) comprises a primary roller (11), which is swivelingly rotated around its roller axis, and a secondary roller (12), which is swivelingly rotated around another roller axis moving in opposite direction to the rotation of the primary roller. A collection unit (14) is provided for collection of jammed and defective preforms (2) at the primary and secondary rollers. An independent claim is also included for a method for sorting preforms, such as bottles.
