PURPOSE: A system and a method for converting a PFM/PWM mode in a multiphase buck converter are provided to reduce power loss by improving the efficiency of a converter by introducing a pulse frequency operation mode in a multiphase current sharing buck converter in a light load condition. CONSTITUTION: A first switching transistor(204) is connected between an input node(202) and a phase node(210). A second switching transistor is connected between the phase node and a ground node(212). An inductor(216) is connected between the phase node and the output voltage node. A control logic(214) generates switching control signals in response to a pulse control signal. A PFM/PWM conversion logic(224) generates a pulse control signal converted between a PWM signal and a PFM signal.
