PURPOSE: A system for preventing illegal software copy from a USB memory device, and a method of operating the stored software in the USB memory device are provided to prevent the illegal copy of software by storing USB memory authentication information and a software separately without a password or a secret code. CONSTITUTION: A VM(Virtual Machine)(15) of a PC(Personal Computer)(10) includes an authentication processing unit(16), a software package processor(17). The authentication processing unit includes a program execution environment to implement software package stored at a USB memory device(20) without an installation process, and is involved in the authentication of the USB memory device. A management server(40) generates an authentication value by using an authentication parameter, a random value and time information.
