PURPOSE: A Z-water current recovery device of a wire cut electric discharge machine is provided to block Z-water current by supplying high pressure air between two pressure reduction rings when the Z-water current is pressure-reduced and discharged. CONSTITUTION: A Z-water current recovery device of a wire cut electric discharge machine comprises a ring body(4), lots of pressure reduction rings(8,9,10,11), and an air curtain part(12). The wire passes through the ring body during the connection of the wire. The ring body has lots of the discharge hoses on the bottom. The discharge hose supplies Z-water current rapidly and reduces the pressure and discharges the Z-water current. A plurality of pressure reduction rings are arranged inside the ring body. The wire is collected to a wire recovery system through the pressure reduction ring. The Z-water current is pressure-reduced by the pressure reduction ring and is discharged to the discharge hose. The air curtain part blocks the Z-water current by supplying high pressure air to a separated part(C).
