PURPOSE: An authentication service system and a method thereof are provided to offer safe authentication services by combining a number-based authentication method with a lettering service.;CONSTITUTION: An authentication service user(S10) accesses a site(S11) which requests a subscriber authentication process. The authentication service user is accessed to a terminal(S12) in a network through the site. The authentication service user inputs a terminal number where an authentication number is transmitted to the terminal in the network. A terminal number, which is authenticated, corresponds to a terminal which gets a subscriber ID service.
