PURPOSE: A relay station and a method for enhancing throughput in decode-and-forward relay system are provided to improve the whole data process rate thoroughly. CONSTITUTION: A parameter determining unit(604) determines the number of a first time slot about a base station-relay station link, and the number of a second time slot about a relay station-mobile station link based on the order of a first modulation, and a second modulation. A transmitting unit(606) transmits the information including the first modulation, a first space multiplex gain, and the first time slot number. The transmitting unit transmits the modulated signal based on the second modulation, a second space multiplex gain, and the second time slot number.
