PURPOSE: A method and a system for configuring a sensor network node of tree topology are provided to reduce power consumption by setting up a new parent node for a corresponding child node when a node having the child node has residual electric power below a reference value. CONSTITUTION: A node(700) comprises a switching operation judgment unit(702), a parent node determination unit(704), a child node management unit(706), a storage unit(708) an interface unit(710) and a battery unit(712). The interface unit performs wireless communication, and the battery unit supplies electric power. The child node management unit(706) removes the communication session with a child node having residual electric power below a reference value. The storage unit stores the information on all nodes included in a sensor network system. The switching operation judgment unit generates a detection message and transmits the detection message through the interface unit. The parent node determination unit sets up one node among the parent candidate nodes responding to the detection node as a new parent node.
