STERILIZING METHOD OF CULTURAL ASSETS FOR PRESERVATION USING IRRADIATION AND MODIFIED ATMOSPHERE

PURPOSE: A sterilizing method of cultural assets is provided to improve conservation of cultural assets by removing materials harmful to the cultural assets. CONSTITUTION: A sterilizing method of cultural assets comprises is constituted as follows. Combination treatment of irradiation and substitution gas is performed in order to remove materials harmful to the cultural assets. The cultural assets are selected from a group of a building, an accessory, clothing, a recording. As the substitution gas, nitrogen or carbon dioxide gas is used. The radiation is selected from alpha ray, beta ray, gamma-ray, electromagnetic ray, or X-ray.
