PURPOSE: A symbol detection apparatus and a method thereof in an RFID system are provided to increase the performance of a reader and to accurately decode a signal which is received from an RIFD tag.;CONSTITUTION: A decoding unit(500) determines a decoding value of a signal which is received along a symbol length. A frequency estimating unit estimates the symbol length average of an initial pilot signal of preamble. A filter unit filters a signal having average symbol bandwidth. A frequency change detecting unit detects a detection value of the filtered signal and detects the symbol length of the detected correlation value.
