PURPOSE: An oxide catalyst for the dehydrogenation to synthesize acetaldehyde from ethanol, and a producing method thereof are provided to produce the acetaldehyde with the high yield by the improved conversion rate and selectivity. CONSTITUTION: An oxide catalyst for the dehydrogenation to synthesize acetaldehyde from ethanol contains copper, chrome, and alkali metals or alkali earth metals in a molar ratio of 1:0.01~0.5:0.001~0.25. The alkali metals contain Na or K, and the alkali earth metals contain Mg, Ca, Sr, or Ba. The oxide catalyst additionally contains a supporter selected from the group consisting of Al2O3, SiO2, ZrO2, CeO2, and TiO2.
