BOIL-OFF GAS RELIQUEFACTION APPARATUS OF A LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS CARRIER TO USE RELIQUEFIED BOIL-OFF GAS AS FUEL

PURPOSE: A boil-off gas reliquefaction apparatus of a liquefied natural gas carrier is provided to reduce the amount of produced flash gases by allowing reliquefied boil-off gases to bypass a separator and be used as fuel.;CONSTITUTION: A boil-off gas reliquefaction apparatus of a liquefied natural gas carrier comprises a reliquefaction unit(130), a separator(140), a re-condenser(150), and a boil-off gas fuel line(160). The reliquefaction unit reliquefies boil-off gas that is discharged from a cargo tank, compressed and cooled. The separator separates flash gas from the reliquefied boil-off gas supplied to the cargo tank. The re-condenser re-condenses boil-off gas through heat exchange with the liquefied gas discharged from the cargo tank so that the boil-off gas can be used as fuel for an engine. The boil-off gas fuel line transfers the liquefied boil-off gas so that the liquefied boil-off gas bypasses the separator and is used as fuel for the engine.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
