OUTER-RACE FOR A WHEEL BEARING, CAPABLE OF MINIMIZING ENTIRE WEIGHT OF WHEEL WITHIN THE RANGE SECURING STRUCTURAL RIGIDITY

PURPOSE: An outer-race for a wheel bearing is provided to improve the service life of a bearing by securing the structural rigidity of the ideal outer-race.;CONSTITUTION: An outer-race for a wheel bearing comprises a support(51) and a ring groove(53). The support is formed on the outside of a diameter surface(34) in order to be respectively supported with the outer end and inner end of a knuckle(20). The support has 1 mm or more thicknesses, which shows the distribution of stresses within the yield strength of outer-race, under the cornering load condition within 3G. The connection part, between the support and the diameter surface of outer-race, is formed in a curved surface. The ring groove is formed in the inner side of the outer-race in which a snap ring is inserted.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
