AN ANTIBACTERIAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING THE ESSENTIAL OIL EXTRACT OF UNDARIA PINNATIFIDA (GARNEY) SURINGAR

PURPOSE: An antibacterial composition containing Undaria pinnatifida (Garney) Suringar extract is provided to ensure antibacterial activity against pathogenic bacteria and to be used in a pharmaceutical composition and health food. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial contains Undaria pinnatifida (Garney) Suringar extract as an active ingredient. The composition has antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Candida albicans, Streptococcus mutans, or Staphylococcus aureus. The Undaria pinnatifida (Garney) Suringar extract is isolated using water, low alcohol of C1-C4, hexane, chloroform, methylene chloride, ethyl acetate, glycerin, butylene glycol, or mixture solvent.
