PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for responding the failure occurrence of a highway non-stop tollgate system are provided to previously prevent the collision accident of vehicles generated by the sudden stop of the vehicles.;CONSTITUTION: A sensing unit(202) detects the failure occurrence of a highway non-stop tollgate system. A processing unit(203) responds the detected failure and determines the limit speed of vehicles. A providing unit provides the determined limit speed to the driver of an approaching vehicle. The providing unit functions as a transmitting unit and a displaying unit displaying the detected failure or determined limit speed.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
