PURPOSE: An ultrasound system and method for performing fetal measurement based on fetal face detection are provided to accurately detect a face section image, thereby accurately measuring the disease of a fetus. CONSTITUTION: An ultrasound data obtaining unit(110) transmits an ultrasound signal to a target object and receives a supersonic wave echo signal reflected from a reflector to obtain a plurality of ultrasound data for the target object. A processor(120) is connected to the ultrasound data obtaining unit. The processor generates a 3D supersonic wave image and extracts a plurality of face section images while three-dimensionally rotating the 3D supersonic wave image. The processor measures the OD(Ocular Diameter) and the IOD(Inter Ocular Diameter) of a fetus about the face section images to detect a face section image for fetal measurement and generate the disease information of the fetus.
