PURPOSE: An ignition diagnosis method is provided to prevent wrong diagnosis using one variable since a coil current and a coil voltage are respectively compared to a reference current and a reference voltage to determine the reason of failure. ;CONSTITUTION: An ignition diagnosis method comprises next steps. A MICOM outputs an ignition signal to burn mixed gas in a cylinder to operate an engine(S1). If the ignition signal is output, the current of a coil becomes a reference current(S2) and maintains for below a first disconnection reference time(S3), then the MICOM generates a first failure code due to disconnection(S4). If the ignition signal is not output, the current of a coil maintains at below a reference voltage for over a second disconnection reference time(S5), then the MICOM generates a second failure code due to disconnection(S6). The MICOM determines that failure due to disconnection occurs if the first or second failure code is generated(S8).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
