PURPOSE: System and method for controlling the leg length of welding bead are provided to match the leg length of welding bead with a designed value through real-time monitoring and remove the need for a separate following work. ;CONSTITUTION: A system for controlling the leg length of welding bead consists of a welding torch(110), a leg-length measuring sensor(120), a controller and a gantry. The welding torch performs welding. The leg-length measuring sensor is installed on the rear of the welding torch to measure the leg length of the welding bead. The controller compares the leg length measured by the measuring sensor with a designed value to calculate a welding speed to transfer a corresponding control signal to the gantry. The gantry controls the welding speed of the welding torch according to the control signal of the controller. An arc-light blocking film(130) is formed between the welding torch and the leg-length measuring sensor.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
