PURPOSE: An IP-based service terminal for a remote metering service, a method for monitoring an amount of power used, and a smart grid system including the same are provided to implement a smart grid using a wired communication network by using an SoIP terminal as a smart grid controller. CONSTITUTION: A metering information collecting unit(121) collects metering information according to power used at home from a smart meter. An information transmitting unit(122) is connected to an electricity provider system through an IP network. A controller(123) controls the metering information collected by the metering information collecting unit to be transmitted to the electricity provider system through the information transmitting unit. An information receiving unit is connected to the electricity provider system through an IP network. A storage unit(126) stores electric charge information and an amount of power used according to time. The controller controls electric charge information and an amount of power used according to time to be outputted through the display unit.
