PURPOSE: A backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device having the same are provided to efficiently emitting heat of an LED chip by changing the structure of a bottom cover coping with a heat sink structure. ;CONSTITUTION: A plurality of light sources(170b) generates light. The light sources are mounted on a PCB having a predetermined interval. A lamp housing(170c) protects the light sources by covering the PCB. A heat sink(170d) arranged in the rear side of the lamp housing emits heat which is generated from the light sources to outside. A bottom cover(160b) comprises the light sources, the PCB, the lamp housing, and the heat sink.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
