PURPOSE: A method for measuring a crack depth on the surface of wire is provided to measure the surface defects on a cold forging wire. ;CONSTITUTION: A method for measuring a crack depth on the surface of wire comprises a step of collecting specimen from a pressure wire rod coil; a step of detecting the surface crack on the wire sampled using a magnetization test method; a step of classifying the detected surface crack; a step of cutting the crack part according to the cutting standards and the classified surface crack kinds; and a step of determining the total depth reaching cutting complete as the depth of the crack.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
