METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MUTUAL AUTHENTICATION OF WIRELESS USING SMART CARD INFORMATION OF MOBILE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL

PURPOSE: A mutual authentication method of WLAN using the smart card information of a mobile communication terminal, and a system thereof are provided to remove the vulnerability of a WLAN authentication mode. CONSTITUTION: Using the key information of a USIM(Universal Subscriber Identity Module)(20), a terminal(10) requests authentication to an AP(Access Point)(30). According to an authentication result through the AP and authentication from a corresponding USIM, the terminal permits the use of a wireless Internet service through WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network) communication with the AP. An identification module includes identification module information intrinsically given by identification module. The identification module encodes corresponding identifying information. The identification module comprises an authentication key and a signature key for authenticating system information from a smart card management system(50).
