PURPOSE: A muffler for a large diesel engine capable of removing harmful components from exhaust gas is provided to prevent air pollution on the sea by blocking the emission of harmful components from a ship. ;CONSTITUTION: A muffler for a large diesel engine capable of removing harmful components from exhaust gas comprises a casing(102), an inlet pipe(104) which is installed at the bottom of the casing to supply exhaust gas, a collecting pipe(110) which has a collecting pipe water storage part and an inlet hole, an outlet pipe(106) which is integrally connected to the collecting pipe to discharge collected exhaust gas, baffle plates(116,118,120,122) which are installed on the exterior of the collecting pipe to obstruct the flow of exhaust gas, a center injection pipe(130) which sprays water to the inside of the collecting pipe, a peripheral injection pipe(134) which sprays water from the inner wall of the casing to the collecting pipe, a water tank(128) which stores the water of the water storage part and the water sprayed by the peripheral injection pipe, a heat exchanger(142) which absorbs heat from the water discharged from the water tank, a filter(144) which eliminates contaminants from the water, and a pump(146) which supplies the filtered water to the center and peripheral injection pipes.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
