PURPOSE: A peak-to-average power ratio reduction method using peak windowing and an apparatus thereof are provided to minimize the influence of BER(Bit Error Rate) and ACLR(Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio) performance by reducing in-band distortion and out-of-band radiation due to clipping.;CONSTITUTION: An absolute value calculator(1104) calculates a absolute value of an input signal. A subtracter(1106) subtracts a clipping threshold level which is predetermined in the absolute value. Smoothing part(1108) proceeds smoothing according to a predetermined smoothing mode about the subtracted signal. A summer(1110) adds up the smoothed signal in the clipping threshold level. An inverse calculator(1112) outputs the smoothed signal which is multiplied the clipping threshold level by the totaled signal.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
