摘要

PURPOSE: An overvoltage protection circuit of a semiconductor device and an overvoltage protection method thereof are provided to perform a clamping action according to a predetermined clamping voltage level when hump type overvoltage is applied through a power voltage pad, thereby protecting an internal circuit of the semiconductor device.;CONSTITUTION: A static electricity protection circuit part is connected between a source voltage line(L3) and grounded voltage line and discharges arbitrary static electricity. A clamping circuit part(140) is connected between the source voltage line and grounded voltage line and clamps hump type overvoltage applied through the source voltage line according to a clamping voltage level. The clamping circuit part controls the clamping voltage level in order to be corresponding to a voltage level of external power voltage applied in the source voltage line in response to a test mode signal.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
