TCP RECEIVE APPARATUS USING SLOWSTART METHOD BASED ON RECEIVER AND THE METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A TCP(Transmission Control Protocol) receiving apparatus using a slow start method based on a receiver and a method thereof are provided to prevent the deterioration of the TCP performance when performing a vertical handoff between heterogeneous wireless networks. CONSTITUTION: A portability sensor(110) determines the generation of a vertical handoff. If it is determined that the vertical handoff is generated, a handoff processing part(120) does not transmit an Ack message to a TCP transmitting part for a predetermined period. The TCP processing part(130) transmits the receiving response message to the TCP transmitting part after the predetermined period. The portability sensing part determines whether the handoff is generated or not by directly sensing the handoff in a link part through a cross layer method.
