PURPOSE: A composition for manufacturing ceramic fiber and biosoluble ceramic fiber for a high temperature insulating material manufactured by the same are provided to secure the superior thermal and mechanical characteristic of the composition regardless of high temperature and improving the solubility of the ceramic fiber with respect to artificial body fluid.;CONSTITUTION: A composition for manufacturing ceramic fiber includes 75 to 80 weight% of SiO_2, 10 to 14 weight% of CaO, 4 to 9 weight% of MgO, 0.1 to 2 weight% of ZrO_2, 0.5 to 1.5 weight% of Al_2O_3, and 0.1 to 1.5 weight% of B_2O_3. The sum of CaO and Al_2O_3 is between 11 and 15 weight%. The average diameter of the ceramic fiber is lower than or equal to 6um. The linear thermal shrinkage(at 1260 degrees Celsius/24 hours maintenance) of the ceramic fiber is lower than or equal to 3%. The dissolution rate constant of the ceramic fiber with respect to artificial body fluid is more than or equal to 200ng/cm^2·hr.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
